Default Check engine light being displayed - RPM signal no. 2 Error Code thrown

    Hi All,

Yesterday the boat aka LS400 started throwing the code mentioned in the title.

What could possibly be causing this to be an issue. It was serviced & the waterpump was replaced about 500km ago only info on the web suggests this issue could relate to the timing belt being out a tooth or an issue with the Camshaft Position Sensor wire.

I'm trying to sell the car and don't want to pass on a lemon so won't to get this fixed ASAP so I can throw the car up on carsales etc.

Edit: Awesome times the accesoried belt has worn through the tape and is starting to attack the wire that goes to the CPS. Issue determined and email sent to my mechanic as well they should be fixing it as they didn't secure the wiring properly again after doing the waterpump.

Does it go any worse than before?

Nope but I betting it will once the wire gets cut through by the accessories belt. No Cam position sensor might make it a bit rough/not run at all.

The wire in question has a the faint red circle around it.

    Probably won't run at all.
    Pretty common though.
