Most 1984 and older hilux G diffs had a solid spacer , everything after had the cheap crush one .
Most Hilux diffs have been rebuilt by now at some stage and in most cases they are fitted with the crush spacer and lose the solid one.

Going by marlin crawler, the longer pinion spacer is for a '4cyl' and the crush tube would be for the '6cyl' or high pinion design as it is shorter.
Going by the EPC, what looks to be a solid spacer on a ~84 hilux is 41231-40010 and the crush tube is 41231-24010.
On the EPC there is no list for shims to set preload on the diff?

I am going to email marlin crawler and see if they have a distributor in Aus, and i'll call around a few 4x4 differential places.

Theres no solid spacer for the V6 diffs unless you make one up. Long crush tube is 4CYL diffs and short is the big bearing V6 diffs . I had much trouble ordering shims from toyota a while ago so maybe theres a better source for them . Also toyota want $3 each which adds up if your playing to get the correct preload.

When I had my F series built I asked them to put a solid spacer in it. They said no problem, they could make one and shim/machine it to length. While I never have had it apart to inspect it I can only assume it's solid... and the diff works which is a bonus.
