The cleaning fluid is just a bit of household detergent, its used to break the surface tension in the water. The ultrasonic waves do the rest of the work to shake off the unwanted particles.

As they say in the book, assembly is the reverse of dismantling, but slower cos you forgot where all the bits are

We do it at work all the time,

the thing that's not mentioned on here is
the injectors need to be held open while in the ultrasonic bath so that the fluid
can get in and around the tip correctly,
so the machine that we use to test them has a function where it powers them up
while in the cleaner, so as to hold them open but not burn them out.

    Dave,

I was gunna take it to this lot www.efihardware.com, but the other guy working there is on holiday at the moment and they are backlogged something chronic apparently.

So he directed me to Motafit around the corner in Mitcham. Granted I only got mine flow tested, but they do clean as well.

May be inner SE, but I had a set done at B&M Fuels in Richmond a couple of years back. The guy there (if he hasn't retired yet) invented old-school. $35ea normal retail, with seals.

But how do those particles get out?
There is normally a filter at the inlet of the injector, do you remove it?
Do you apply 12V to the injector to hold open the pintle (or even better, pulse it) so it can be cleaned out properly?

These are the things that a proper injector cleaning setup do, as well as reverse flushing.

Thanks guys , I have used efi hardware before .
The problem with injector cleaning is you cant see how clean they are and if they did quality work .
I had years of access to a machine for the cost of wine and did them all my self but like all good things it came to a end .
I bought some proper caustic injector cleaner and cleaned some 7M injectors last week but i forgot about them and the cleaner ate the aluminium end off the injector
Old school in richmond sounds the goods .

Most mechanics would have a mobile inj cleaner service come in, when required.
