    Default cleaning your injectors

hi i'm thinking about taking out my injectors from my 3s-ge and giving them a clean. problem is i'm not sure how and the place locally wants to chagre an arm and a leg for it.

should i just try some of those "injector cleaner in a bottle" first?

how do these places actually clean the injectors. do they soak it in something, i remember reading some where that they take the injectors out and pump fuel through them to clean them.

    any help is appreciated.

How much are they charging? Usually they flow test them, then pump cleaning fluid through them, then flow test them again. Sometimes they also use an ultrasonic bath.

that's probly including labour. if you were to take them out yourself you'd save probly $60.

your probly just better off to put a bottle of injector cleaner through it if your not sure of what your doing.

its usually about $20 each if you pull them out yourself and take it to them, call up some of the mobile injector cleaners and ask how much if you take them down to there shop. if your in the hills district send me a PM and ill give you the name of a place close by that will do it.

33 retail inc gst per inj is the normal rate these days. The cleaning machine must be a modern one tho

Petro-Ject in townsville here charged me $64 to clean 4 injectors, including all new seals, and they did a flow test and a pulse test. Take it to an injection specialist, and remove/reinstall them yourself if you want it done for a similar price.

Yeah, they flow, pulse, and ultrasonic clean it...and also replace the seal..
Provided that you take the injectors off yourself, itd cost $60 for 4 injectors...
Makes a big difference compared to just using the injector cleaning bottle...i used it...didnt feel satisfied..following weekend had the injectors cleaned and oh boy there was a big difference!

The injectors are cleaned by placing them in a cleaning solution and putting a ultra sonic sound wave through the solution. This will shake / remove any build up of deposits in the injector . As it has been stated they will then be flow checked to insure that they have a clean / even spray pattern and that they flow the same amount of fuel over a certain period of time ( usually a min )

    AH fook.

I puled mine out myself and took it to Ezy clean?.. Something like that. 120 it cost me. Inc GST. Expensive as a mofo.. and the friggin things were almost perfect anyway. *shrugs*

Least I know they are good now.

PS. They were a slut to pull out.

I used that iinjector clean in a bottle and it did help. one bottle does 3 tanks, but I used the thing in about 2 quater tanks. Worked good. I suggest dp that first.

Damn I don't beleive it... A realistic price quoted on the Toymods forum

Injector cleaning when done properly requires a flow test before they are cleaned, an ultrasonic bath and then a flow test to ensure they are even. The correct cleaning solutions are rather expensive and SINGLE USE ONLY. Add the cost of the solutions (for all 3 tests) and the time it takes to opperate the machine, the purchase price of a high end injector cleaner and if you think its financially viable for anyone to do the job properly for $15 an injector you should up your medication.

Around $35ea is indeed the going retail rate. ($27.50 trade )

$30 per injector at my local place, but $16.50 trade price.

EDIT: and between me and nathan we've had about 40 injectors cleaned at this place over the last year. Always come back with new seals, and a verbal report on how they compared to each other ("A couple were 15% down")

$25 is their retail Cruz. I asked before I made them give me them for $16.50. As he said, they always come back looking like new.
