    Default 7mgte weird ass problems

gday i have a few problems with my 7mgte (not dismissing the fact of a blown head gasket)....ok number 1. when i am driving along between rev's of 1500rpm and 2000rpm (mainly sittin on 2000rpm at idle wen i keep the rev's up that much) the car just cuts back down about 500revs and then picks up again......i have moved the tps like 1 mm and it has seemed to of stopped..should i have not done this tho or will it be ok?...i didnt take it out or anything just moved it a touch......and second problem is ive done a compression test on it and all cylinders were fine....and it has only ever overheated once wen i was absolutely caining it thru the hills..never again since..always sits on half temp...ive tried bleeding the system..air still comes out of the radiator tho....new radiator cap and thermostat....could it be because my fan infront of the radiator and the 2 fans sittin behind the radiator arnt working? and if so could this be the switch on the thermostat housing because wen i earth it out (it has power) the fans come on...i know this sounds like i dont know much but im just learning and need some help...cheers...kyle

silly question but have you turned on your heater to full heat and highest temprature while flushing? as thats where alot of air can go sometimes.

and also give it a small idle up every now and then, check the radaitor cap for any small dints around the internals,

and about the rev down, its totaly different but my old st184 celicas i had, the crown, the corona all did that when standing still. would come up to just under 2k and drop to aroudn 800-900ish revs and bounce between there and 2k untill i brought the idle up or down a little, i was told by a mechanic friend its some computer signal to test something stupid but it shouldnt be an issue, but mine was manual so i wouldnt be an issue and wouldnt happen under load, im guessing the TPS just disturbs the signal or something like that so i could say now that there is a good chance that its noting really but yeah

    end rant...

pull the AFM plug and run the car without the afm see if that stops your "rpm drop"

IF its stopped, then you have fixed the problem

do you have the engine driven fan or aftermarket thermo fans?
if stock, the 2 stock thermo fans are only there for A/C.

they only kick in when needed, for the AC system. ie 40 degree day they will kick in automagically.

yeh but wouldnt it be important to the cooling system if it plugs into the thermostat housing where the coolant actually travels thru so it takes a reading from the coolant temp and then turns the fans on

yeh it came up with number 11 which is momentary interruption in poewr suplly t oecu but i cleared that n it didnt come back and the other was code 51 which is no "IDL" signal, "NSW" signal or "A/C" signal to ecu during diagnostic check......but that code only happens when i had the revving problem like whilst it was happening..didnt store it

ok can any one tell me what these 2 sensors are...they are on the thermostat housing (had an ohm metre on the top one and it just kept reading 6.82-6.84ohms and didnt drop, does tha mean its buggered or do i have a bad earth sumwhere).....i put the positive end of my ohm metre in the connection part (where wire enters the plug) and the negative on the thread of the sensor whislt it were still in the car...can any one tell me?
