Default 1jz-ge non vvti - no spark !?

hey all ive just finished putting a 1jz-ge and auto from a jx90 into a gx71 cressida and ive wired it all up using factory diagrams etc. this is my 2nd cressida project but last one was a 1ggte.
its got fuel but no spark from the plugs, have done the basic test against an earth when cranking, nothing.

Have checked B+ and earths to ecu etc and main efi relay is working, just seems like ive missed an input to the ecu or something? maybe from the auto ?

Im getting a signal from the dizzy to the ecu, its around 200mv.
Also checked the wire that is called "IGF , RPM 1" from the ecu, output to ignitor ? had 5V on it.
Wire called RPM 2 had no voltage on it, not sure if its used on a non turbo 1j.
    any ideas ?

also Im running a speedo cable into the auto instead of the electronic sensor as the cressida has a cable driven speedo in the cluster, the lack of the electronic plug being on the sensor would that stop it from firing up? just a thought.

if anyone knows much about 1j/2j engines and is close Id be very grateful for some help. cheers

Have you checked power to your igniter?

Have you got a check engine light setup? The ECU will give you a code if you try and crank the car for a long period with no RPM signal from the dizzy. (If you have wired up STA to the ECU correctly).

Yer i'd be checking power to the igniter and coil first.

hey guys thanks for the input, havent checked power to the ignitor yet, is it just a 12v feed? what sort of voltage to the coil aswell, 12v?

i tried the TE1-E1 on the diag plug, got out a code 42 which is speed sensor. could be since i changed the rear speedo drive on the auto to a cable one?

thing is the code was more like a 4..2..1.......1 . not too sure what that means?!

    will check ignitor voltage.

The speed sencor error won't affect the car from starting. Check power to the coil/ignitor/injectors. They should all be 12v.
