I was about to say it'd be funny to pull into one of those old fashioned "full service" service stations where they ask to check the oil, etc under the bonnet, but then I remembered you wouldn't be pulling into one of those unless you wanted a coke or something

    Hehe.

In the future I can see electric servo's with meter boxes and charging sockets all over the place. (They already have similar things in the US, can't remember exact details it was in some tv show I was watching a while back).

    Update
    Thursday, 1 October 2009

Finished routing & clamping the fat power pipes down the car, can cross that one off.

Re-built the A/C system, new expansion valve, dryer & all new o-rings.

Sorted out all the non-essential wires from the ECU loom, tagged and turfed!

Installed the 60A DCDC converter and assocated power distribution bits.

Have also put in new g/b seals and re-installed the CV’s.
Few more wires to run & I should be able to get the dash back in!
Was hoping to have it ‘test driveable’ by yesterday, but I decided to wait and get as much of the bits for the dash right, as it is a big job to install / remove.

Ha very much so, the fact its one piece the whole way across and down to the floor causes a huge headache when you need to get to anything behind there!

    Minor Update
    Friday, 16 October 2009

Have purchased a nice little 12V brushless pump & Oil Cooler for the Zilla.
Installed hectic LED backlights for the dash, now super saturated amber colored which nicely matches the battery fuel gauge.
More-or less done with additional wire routing, cleaned up a lot of ‘spare’ wires.
Just need to figure out the A/C computer, then the dash can go back in.
Got the next week off work, so expect to see some major updates!

I got a full set of workshop manuals for the Sera on my site. There should be wiring diagrams in there too.

If you want to throw money at a new dash facia (the yellow is so poo) check out http://www.metal-monkey.co.uk/acatalog/Sera.html

A member of the UK Sera forum designed it, and it was availble through that site.

    Cheers For the info guys!

I actually don't mind the yellow dash, as it matches well with the other controls and my battery fuel gauge.
Though I may need a replacement clear cover, as my one had something nasty sprayed on it by the previous owner & I can't clean it off.

I just recently spent the afternoon working out all the pin-outs for the dash, I now have a complete circuit diagram dawn up, including the gauge sweep ranges / resistances and current draw

To repair the plastic on the gauges, take to it with some Brasso then Mothers plastic polish. Our Sera was the same, it's the damned Armour All people use, without realising that it eats the perspex used for the cluster. (I realllly hate Armour All..)
Make sure to pull the clear plastic off the cluster though, to prevent getting the polish on the gauge faces.
You can take the chance to clean out any dust inside with a very soft brush too.

Yer Armour all has silicon that eats some plastics...

Im'e far too lazy to ever put anything on my interiors... usually too busy pulling them out & turfing bits ;p
Next step was to try polishing, thanks for the info!

    Dash Circuit

Not 100% complete, but all the important stuff.. just need to add wire colour codes.

Heh, I'm actually just scanning the Toyota wiring diagrams right now. Just did the cluster diagrams then.

I can post a link up to it when it's all done in the next few days if you like.

Just out of curiosity, I can't remember if you covered it or not, but what are you doing about a heater, seeing as it usually runs off engine coolant. I see you have covered a/c and power steering, but can't remember about the heater.
