hey guys,
ive had a WTB at up on heaps of forums for a few days, searched with google, ebay aus and us, yahoo auctions, e-mailed importers.... and have not found one lead on the ecu i need to get this 2jzge here and slap her in.
so im open to suggestions..
obviously these the option to go aftermarket which i cant really afford to buy even base model ecu's they would cost more than the whole motor did and i dont have that sort of coin.
what about ecu's from other motors? over versions of 2jzge? im guessing none would be a plug in option tho? the guy who has my motor tried a aristo ecu but the plugs where totally different.
a guy in tassie here said he knew of a cheap aftermaket ecu, but 2 issues are 1, it wont run the vvti (could always just get a serporate vvti controller later) and the auto wont be too happy with it. a shift kit isnt an option as again the expense is too high. one idea i suggested was to use the old 7mge ecu to run the auto and the aftermarket one to run the motor???
ideas/info appreciated.

believed to be jzx101.
as i already said ive searched on yahoo auctions.
these on on there for a jzx101 but the part number is different, ive also searched for various other ecus and came up with nothing with the right number.
yeah, the JZX101 is way earlier than your number..

i would suggest you double check what car the engine came from, and match the plugs to the shapes on the labels on yahoo, and narrow it down to what other numbers appear to fit.

well im buying the motor from a guy in WA and as he was loading the motor the ecu was damaged... so trying to find a replacement to suit before he sends it..
i dont have it here with me so its a bit hard to get information at times.
i looked at most of them i believe.
i dont know how im going to confirm if its actually from a jzx101.. looked at gs300 but im now told that they have a 5speed auto so ive stopped searching those
i have a picture of the top of it showing the sticker but not of the plugs.... kinda very frustrated.
sure it is not an A instead of an 8?
post pic of sticker
did you think to ask toyota what the number is from?

Sure it's not 89661-30760 from a Crown??
Well its certainly an early model. Late model has only 3 plugs.

i was told it was from a jzx101 but it maybe from something else!
i know very little to nothing about part numbers...
if crown came with 2jzge with vvti then yes it could be from that? do you know what the chassis code would be for said crown so i can search it?

well.... he sent me a vid of the engine running on this ecu and he said he had it in his cressy so presumably it must be the right ecu for the motor...
here are picture of the actual motor from the FS thread... from my research it looks suprisingly simerlar to a 1jzge vvti jzx105 that i found on yahoo when looking for ecu's!!

just spoke to Graham on msn, he said definitely a 2jz as it has it printed on the block and head.. should have more pics soon!

maybe the ECU is not matched to the engine?
call toyota and ask what car that ECU number matches to?
