anyway, so you bought it off a guy who bought it off "KYP" (who has no posts.. but lists a JZX147 aristo in their info)

i cannot understand why the seller can't get a better picture of the ECU number, or confirm it 100% for you?

ive been doing probaly about 4-5 hours research/searching per day for the past week or so... so i am trying...
2jzge came in various lexus (gs300, is300 ) but some (if not all) had a 5speed auto...
believe they came in a crown, not sure which model....

he said that he had tried a aristo ecu and it was different, but there may have been different models...
yeah i dont know if its just slackness or what. i dont think im being ripped yet but if he trys anything i know a few guys in that area of WA who will sort him out haha.
edit: i didnt buy it off of KYB this guy brought it from him

yah, so ask KYB where it came from
post up the ECU numbers and cars you have found so far, including any distinguishing features (ie, what coils etc)

okay from wiki, all these model CROWN are listed to have 2jzge's they came with 4 and 5 speed auto's. didnt mention vvti etc, might look them up on toyodiy
S130 Facelift and S140 Models: 1991 to 1990
S150 Model: 1995-1999
S170 Model: 1999 to 2003
EDIT:
ive checked every part number for aristo, chaser, supra, crown, cresta featuring a auto 2jzge......
no matches.

i'll see if toyota parts here will identify it for me...
still, would be a lot better if you could get a non-fuzzy picture of the ECU

yeah thats true.
just going to try and get the motor here.
should be able to get an ecu... if not another ecu and loom...
failing that aftermarket ecu
