Taking the head off is easier, but if you have the right tool (the snap-on/bluepoint) tool, you should be able to do it without having to take the head off![]()
Hey guys i am after some info on changing my valve steam seals in my 4agte.. Are they the same as any other 4age ? also does the head need to come off or just rockers,cams, then you can get access to them?

yer i am trying not to take the head off.. As i might as well go with a new hg to raise compression

not all valve seals are the same!!!!!
4AGE seals in a AE86 are one number, AW11, are 2 of a few.......

After much research, I went with......
the silver ones, 02077, are the exhaust

What's the difference?
i think 1 type is for intake and the other for exhaust as i think they are different sized valve stems
same size stem... the exhaust seals are made of a slightly higer temp capable "rubber"

Probably Viton or the like.
So if you use exhaust seals on the intake, all the better then?
