Hi all just wondering can the 20 valve black top version quad throttle bodies fit to a 4agze wilst the supercharger is still fitted?![]()

ok what about fitting the 20valve head to the 4agze my mate up here in townsville said it wont work as the valves will foul with the pistons is this true or can it be done
what are you expecting from fitting quads to a supercharged engine? this would have to be one of the worst benefit for effort things you could ever do to a 4AGE.
i cant see how you would get it to work ?
or why..

I was only thinking of it as one of the guys up here in townsville got in working in his ae86 and it was suprising it got really good response and even better when he changed it to the t28 which is what he is running on it now.
fair enough, how did he run the setup ?
suppose maybe if you copy the system the used and it works alright could be worth a shot..
who knows

apparently funky shit happens with ITB's and forced induction
Bassicaly after you get a adaptor plate for the intake or get the valve receses on teh pistons extended you still need a plenum and IC
After all that you pretty good,
As stated you dont get any real benfit for teh amount of time and money it will cost,
speend you money on a new ECU or a mandrel bent exaust or bigger injectors and pulley kit or somthing that will get you more for less effort
it will turn into an RB26??Originally Posted by skiddz
as for the flycuts in pistons... the GZE flycuts aint big, and that is so it is not an interference engine... perhaps the 5 valves are fine.. unless you break a belt
the only thing it wioll net you is response.... but that also depends how you control the boost of the SC now... will you leave the front TB there to have a boost controller? or or or?
unless you are doing it for a particular reason.. seems a lot of effort for little gain...
same goes for the 20V... unless you have something big in mind, why change to a head that is not much if any better?
if you want something different, go for it(they can both be done with effort), but you could be even differenter and get either a twinscrew or the eaton 4 lobe SC
more performance ftw!

Definately can be done. Apparently valve clearences aren't an issue. The biggest advantage is that the inlet ports on a 20v are much higher on the head than a 16v and clear the supercharger completely. This leaves you room for a much nicer manifold.Originally Posted by KARNAGE
This is a link to some in-car video from my old motor which had a single throttle body before the plenum. I'd be very surprised if quads had better throttle response than that (it was almost too touchy). There is a lot more information on my setup here.

Anyways thanks for the replies i will see how it goes and keep you posted thanks
