i didnt have a torque wrench - i do now, bought it yesty.
a mechanic mate of mine told me to use rattle gun. needless to say i wont listen to him anymore - he did build the motor in his gtr tho and it run 10.8's, makes good power.
so basically i made the mistake of listening to someone who i thought knew what they were talking about - its not the first time, and probly wont be the last lol.
Blake, yeah im aware they need to be sealed - cheers mate!!!!

Loctite will have its own lubricity.
If it were me. I would follow the ARP recomendations for 30wt motor oil torque specs. I would use loctite only on the threads and ARP lube only or loctite only under the heads of the bolts.
But hey thats just me.
Seeming as its not the toyota bolt anymore, dont follow standard toyota torque specs. The bolts are most likely made with a different material, have a different yeild strength (hence ARP being a common upgrade) and therefore will require different torque specifications.
More importantly, what loctite product are you using?

hahhahaha nice Andy - fear has never been a big problem for me - its the frustration that i then have to go and find new parts, holding me up even more!
Jeffro, loctite 243 i think - red (high strength) thread locker
Cheers

243 is blue and medium strength.
To be honest you only need something with medium strength. Most high strength loctites are diesgined for bolt threads with large diamteres over 1" and designed to be removed with heat and hand tools.
Medium strength loctites are designed for smaller threads.
One of the best possible loctite products for this application would be loctite 266.
It is highly resistant against heat, oil, vibration, shock and is high strength. It also has good lubricity values for torqueing your bolts.
Id go get a small qauntity of 266, cover your threads and under bolt heads with it, and torque to the 30 wt motor oil specs for your flywheel bolts provided by ARP![]()

then i gave you the wrong numer then
i definately have red - i bought it the other day with the guy at cbc bearings recomending it.
that was what worried me - the removing aspect - i was looking at that description in the booklet.
i also have the blue medium strenth here.
cheers

You are only really wanting a sealing affect anyhow. The strength of the loctite shouldnt really be a concern if torqued correctly. "D
Toyota says Loctite 242 or equivalent for reference
Which 243 is the replacement for if I recall correctly. Medium strength, bluei.e. so you can get it apart next time
Which is what I've used in the past without dramas
