Default JZA80 2JZGE check engine light on.

    Hey Hey,

I'm doing a timing belt on my mates supra soon and the check engine light is also on so i want to find out what code its throwing while im at it. Toyota here in Beaudesert cant find anything wrong with it even though the light is on and it stalls when its cold.

Are they just like ae82's and you short two terminals in the diagnosis plug ? Is there any detailed information on exactly how to check the codes on a 2JZGE ?

Checking codes is identical to pretty much every other Toyota.
Bridge TE1 and E1 and count the flashes.

So with the ignition off bridge TE1 and E1 and then turn the ignition ON and count the flashes ?

    Yep.

Then pull the EFI fuse for 5 minutes, and try again.
If there are any codes then, it means that sensor is still a problem (codes get stored).

Then go for a drive and recheck codes.

The codes will be 99% identical to all other Toyota's of the same era.
