Default jaycar DFA on Blacktop 20V

    Hi Guys

Has anyone out there use the Jaycar DFA on their Blacktop 20V as I have one lying around???

Does this make any improvement and how easy to hook up to the ecu???

    Any advise will be good....

    cheers, pkjai

I think there's a chance on a blacktop it'd help. They've got nasty knock detection and on aussie fuel don't perform as well as one running with an aftermarket ecu.

Don't quote me on this, but I'd guess you'll be stopping the ecu retarding it's timing if you set it up right. The only drama is you'll need to make a circuit, as found in the MSD installation manual to send an IGF signal to the ecu (very simple to build).

Only one way to find out

They aren't hard to hook up as long as you have access to a wiring diagram.
The only way to tune them is with a wide band air/fuel ratio meter, no point in adding a DFA unless you have access to 1 or pay for dyno tuning.
Do the Blacktop 20V's typically run rich? Not much point fitting a DFA unless it does.
Are the Blacktop 20V's the 1's that use the vane/flap airflow meter? If the AFM is a restriction, then you could fit a bigger 1 and use the DFA to get it running sweet again.

i forget to add that i'm running a stock blacktop ecu with quad trumpet setup and it does run slightly rich. but does this DFA works on MAP??? Where can I get information on hooking it??? and any recommendation for the dyno tune??

I found 10hp in my GZE with one, it'll work fine with MAP, but you'll need to find the input wire from the MAP sensor and tap into that, and get someone to tune it on a dyno.
