Excuse me if I missed it on my quick skim through the thread, but what are the relevant times and cutoffs for scrutineering, driver briefing and first and last sessions?

Gday Manny, it's a private practice day, so the scrutineering isn't as ...strict as that. Basically we'll have a driver briefing at about 8:50am, with a view to opening the track on the dot of 9am. We then basically run an open track all day until 4pm - there's no sessions, we just limit it to 10 (maybe 12?) cars on the track at one time. You run up to 6 laps, then come in, and we 'one in one out' all day. You end up getting a lot more track time, can go out basically whenever you want, and don't end up waiting much at all, because except for around midmorning, the track generally isn't full, or if it is the queue's no more than a car or two. If there are people waiting to go out, cars who've done their laps will get flagged in to keep things rotating. If there's nobody waiting, you won't get flagged in.

The only time it ever really backs up is if there's a long stoppage, and everybody's keen to get back out - but that's just the time i go for a bacon and egg roll.

Everybody needs to remember to bring helmet, cams/wakefield or valid driver's licence (you'll need to get a wakefield one if you don't have one or a cams one - they're $60-ish?, valid for 12 months). Also long pants/sleeves and enclosed shoes.

And sleeping bag, pillow, beverages if you're staying at the pelican.

Do we have a wait list?

My front left caliper seazed up on the weekend... in the middle of King George's Road
It fried pretty bad, can't be arsed rebuilding it. I will go if no one else wants my spot, but it's up for grabs if anyone is keen.

Blake, yes, 'driving instructors' need to be licenced and signed in exactly like a driver - no difference in terms of insurances etc.

Dylan, no wait list at the moment, you might have to back up all those digs you've had at other people who were talking soft...

Also, if anyone is considering staying friday night, or thinks they might be a chance of deciding to once they realise how wrecked they are after a full day on the track, now would be a good time to speak up - basically we've only got 4 or 5 of us staying friday so it's looking like we're not going to get the bunkhouse, which means there won't be any spare beds if needed. If there are any maybes, we can figure out what we're going to do.

    Garth

Just to check. If I bring a +1 are they up for the 180 as well as a license, or is the 180 for the car?

    Cheers Craig

Yep, track fees are per car - additional drivers and passengers need to be licenced and signed in/have wristband; they're good on this, couple of people have come very close to life bans in the past because they were about to swap wristbands...

And the main argument is usually that no wristband/signed indemnity = no insurance, which sucks majorly because no one wants to be getting chased by a hurtling lump of uninsured (life/hospital we're talking, not panels) steel.

Brooks Rd is just past the M7/M5 junction and the meet time of 7pm is tentative and open to negotiation - i'll put up a map and description later but if you're desperate, go look in any of the last bunch of threads and you'll find it.

If anyone needs me urgently my mobile is 0406 998 108.
