    Default W50 gearbox

I have a 1980 hilux 2wd RN40 with a 18 R-C with the linkages really sloppy and a suspicion the selectors are worn, I have difficulty in finding 3rd and hard to put in second while changing down. Also I would like to know if a W50 gearbox would bolt in without any modification what so ever?

I'm guessing it's a column shift since there was mention of linkages? In which case there would obviously be modification involved with a W50 which is floor-shift only. It will bolt straight up to the engine though provided you get one from an RA23/RA40 Celica.

W50 box will bolt straight in,use same tailshaft, clutch from the old column shift and your away.
Oh and remember to cut a hole in the floor to accommadate the gear shift .
Thats the only mod that is needed.
    Cheers Brett.
