LOL..."pertwang"! You're old enough to know better, Ian. <shakes head>
I know not to open switches, watches, cameras or anything complicated containing springs without first ensuring that i have an expert or instruction manual on hand.
hi
while trying to find out why the wastegate dosnt work on our club project car
i undid the clamps holding the two chambers together ,when it went Pertwang and bits went everywhere , now all i need is advice in the re assembly sequence
has enyone got an exploded view of this ,

I have a real HKS 60mm Gate sitting on my desk if you think that will help. PM Me.
Large plate with 6mm hole goes onto the valve first, then the diaphragm, then the nut. Use only the outer spring if you want less than 25psi. Should give around 10psi with just the outer. The stepped washer goes in the top. To reassemble them you have to be uber carefull of piching the diaphragm. I put it in the press and slowly close it down while using a very bluntened screwdriver to tuck the diaphragm back in as it closes up. V band on, test with compressed air, throw it back on. They are good gates in general, very well made and reliable.
If both those springs were inside before it went pertwang then i think that'd be the problem with it Ian.Originally Posted by jzk25

thanks for the help guys
i wanted to get it all back together before slim found out , lol
i spoke to a very helpful guy at turbo engineering in thomastown vic , who although hadnt seen this particular one in bits , together we nutted it out ( i think}
i will partially assemble it and post up another piccy to see if i am on the right track
one thing that is concerning me is that the hose on the bottom of the wastegate was connected to the inlet manifold, and the nut that holds the shitfight together internaly was not there so if any movement by the boost gizmo it wouldnt have actuated the gate doover
so to my way of thinking it would be pressurizing the canister thingy and not allowing the gate valve to open i was amazed when i took the clamp off and found the two springs they would almost be good enough for a suspension strut conversion
i will put it together with the softest spring and try that,
plus there are bits that cam in a bag and i havnt a clue what they are
i will piccify them as well

ok here a a couple of piccys
this one is how we think it goes back together
this one i think that the little turned button thing sits in the stepped spring collar
this in turn sits on the bottom of this chamber allowing an adjustment screw to raise the spring pressure
now what has me fckn confused is WTF are these they were in a bag that came with the turbo
