There are lots of options for JZ engines, unfortunately most of them are anodised bling but that doesn't mean it won't work. I've seen a lot of them on eBay.
heya
just wondering what folks have used for an underdrive alt pulley on the jz engines?
anything swap off another vehicle?
anything like a waterpump/fan pulley come close?
sources for aftermarket pulleys? not interested in annodised bling
cheers

A bit of Googling turned up this:
http://store.driftmotion.com/Static/...epulleykit.php
It's a whole kit but only $110, not too bad?

yeah, but i think that shite is just an underdrive crank pulley, and std dia on eveything else. i want to specifically underdrive the alt with its own larger pulley

Yeah OK, I'm sure I've seen stuff like that before, just can't remember where.
It wouldn't be hard to get one made if you know a good machinist? Or you could use it as an excuse to buy your own lathe.![]()

It is, i have the set bar the water pump and crank pulley here. All standard with a smaller crank.Originally Posted by ed_jza80
The pulley is approx 60mm (my verniers cant 100% measure the contact points at the valleys, but it varies between 60mm and 65mm valley to peak), 6tooth belt.

Ed my 1JZ had an alternator from a 1UZ on it (importers must have swapped it over cause the motor had a front end smash), after getting the proper 1JZ alternator for it I realised the pulley from the 1UZ is actually larger diameter (but same offset/rib configuration). Have you got any UZ alternators laying around to check?
Cheers

Ive seen some Honda V6,s have large looking 6PK Alt pulleys.
Dave
the one that ive got is 57mm to peak of grooves, 53 or 54mm to the depth of the groove
depth from the face of the pulley to the face of the mounting flange is 22mm
