    Default 4ac=22rc carby = ?????

hey i got a hilux carby off a mate doing the fuel injection conversion and it got me thinking.

is it worth trying to fit it on my 4ac or will it just drown it ?

it just seemed like a shame to have the carby sitting there and the 4ac is the only carby motor i have.

    thanks in advance

Only way to check, unless someone has actually tried it, would be to pull the 4ac carby off and check the bolt spacing.

You'd probably need to make up an adaptor plate otherwise, which *may* be worth the effort.

Even then you'll probably have to get the carb re-jetted, as it'll run way, way too rich. a 2.4L carb on a poor little 1.6 engine, you see.

32/36 DGAV weber + adaptor plate is a more common carb swap for the 4ac, makes a notable difference.

You'd have to be pretty fucking clueless to do that.

See if you can pick up a 4ac inlet manifold from a wrecker if you don't want to pull your carb off and toy around with getting it to fit. That's the big problem.

After you manage to fit it (f you do) take the carb to a carby shop, get them to throw a more appropriate jet in, and bam, all is done, all is well, and your 4ac will provide a bit more kick in the pants.
