    yes that is certainly interesting...

i think id go with ITB's

(AUD dropped more against the yenn) $4300+shipping etc. you go ITB's, cams, computer, running, tuned and have a fair wad of cash left over..

plus who wants carb when you can have efi? 1G's and z10's are too modern for carbs. digital climate control and dinosaur technology.. doesnt make sence. just my opinion anyway.

    add to that, tuning it

if this came up about 6 months back it would of costed more like 2600 + shipping.

i think thats a more reasonable price considering what your getting. and you would have to be lucky to have a fair wad of cash left over on just ITB's let alone adding cams as well.

think its well established that putting carbs ona 1gge would be doing it for the love of the retro rather than for the chase of power. responsiveness would be great tho

haha nice find, would be interesting to see how the 1g would run with that setup, could be good fun in a small/light car wouldnt think it would be a good idea for a soarer though.

not tryin to hijack the thread but theres also a nice hks full single turbo conversion kit on ebay for the 1g looks nice but really pricey. but you get everything required.

well, was thinking $500 for 6x throttles, $200 for a manifold, $1200 for a ecu.. $100 to have loom modded $200 for a tune? cams $1,000

thats upto $3200.. maybe make it upto $3500 for mis gaskets, ramtubes/filters, few bolts/fittings.

still a fair bit cheaper, more reliable, more power, still very cool... done properly

from what ive seen/found... if you were to wire/weld/fabiracte/tune & get everything on the cheep, then 3200 would be about right... but if not i think you would be looking at alot more.

it wouldnt be too bad in the GZ10, ae71 agress there not bad stock, im sure with tripple carbies it wouldnt be anyworse. just sound heaps better and response... there around 1200kg min full trim... so lose interior and cut some weight and 1100kg wouldnt be too much of a ask.

like i said, would be more for the retro style rather than the search for power... 6 months back i might of considered it when the yen was good

yes well im intending on keeping the ol 1G for another project. current owner of my old rust box putting 1GGTE in there.

i was quite happy with the 1G, only mods where a pod and cat back 3" exhaust. had no bottom end but i think there maybe have been a bit of an issue with the tvis..

    is the stock ECU MAP?
looks like a stock ECU there..
then again, you could probabyl just use any MAP based toyota ECU for 6 cyl and just use it for spark.
so no need for $1200 for ECU.
there are no cams with this either, so take out $2200 = $900..

the manifold is a "one off" = they cut the flange off stock mani, and welded tubes and a flat flange for the carbs onto it.
dizzy and alternator look stock, fuel reg is cheap one. carby fuel hose is cheap, and the gauge and fittings are cheap too.
gaskets? cheap. stock head-mani gasket, and use cheap off shelf weber gaskets.
filters and tubes do cost a penny tho

the only value in this package is the 3 carbs and the manifold, the rest is almost junk
you could probabyl buy three brand new carbs, and get a manifold made up liek that, for less

i think you kinda missed what i was saying buddy. re-read what i had said.

i was talking about ITB with injection.

i do have eyes and i can see where it had been welded. also if you where to buy a spark only ecu it wouldnt cost $1200. you could also cut the cost a bit with the EFI way by buying a mega squirt kit.

eairlyer 1ggue had AFM and later versions had MAP.

Use the old style electric dizzy wit a single coil from a 5me.... Cut shaft to size and fit 1g worm gear to end..... Oh and get the ignition pack from a 22Re....Its all i did. works a treat...
