Fastest before scaling or whatever it is was Steve in the Caldina.

And Top Toyota which was a combination of show and motokhana - Matt Bently - is200
it had the highest over all show result, and then was flogged by 2 different drivers all day in the Khana... with a few very quick runs... as well as some spectactular slower... but smokier runs!!!!

Top weekend, which was never in doubt.

All my return trip issues happened within a few km's of home Bommiedoor tow car dropped to 4 cyls...the unburnt fuel made the exhaust so hot it popped one of the air leveler bags in the rear springs Cash for good pics of GT8

Sell you a VP sedan cheap (or exchange for getting a towbar for the Caldina made up ). Just finished fitting the towbar yesterday arvo.

Got a few pics where I was doing fast shots during the khana (trying to figure out a way to get them to Alchemist).

Ditto for a request for motorkhana pics or vids (preferably during the damp run when I could get the handbrake & rear torsen diff to work for me instead of inducing understeer)

The wagon was an animal out there!!!!

its an awesome ride.... and was well driven. i would like to see unscaled results on the khana... i read the supp regs, and it sounds like it could make a huge difference. particuarly if one group had alot of good drivers (fast/experienced) and another had drivers that took their time, but were slow, but still made no mistakes.

If serious drivers all bought 4x4 to compete with.... and there was one good driver in a class of slow cars.... the good driver in the slow class would get a massive scaling.

That system would probably work well in a motokhana event - where all the drivers came there to drive and are into it.... but at the toynats where alot of people would never do it other wise, but gave it a go there.... some classes would benefit.

ANYWAYS - it was all in the supp regs....

But congrats again on the OUTRIGHT fastest time!!!

I would love to see some videos put up (on U-Tube in hidef if possible) of the weekend. Sadly my camera stayed in the car on the day due to the work involved in running the khana this year so I have nothing to provide (still have stuff from last year though. )

And I was eyeing off the paddock until we all decided to scamper.

Now to invest in that WRC gearbox where the tailshaft gets disconnected when the handbrake is pulled.

It would be interesting to see the results based on the "normal" way a motorkhana is scored. ie the best run of each course is added up. I think it'd be a lot closer (& I doubt I'd be at the top).
I asked about the weighting at the end, and basically because they weren't many AWDs & we were all fairly close (except for Dave apparently ) it drove the average for our class way up.

There was a perfectly good Echo in the carpark which would've been PERFECT for this event. Small light FWD with a rear handbrake.

You did well for 12.5 hrs. It's a long haul. I think it was something like 17 hrs from Sydney.

nah, out that way the paddock would usually be just a slippery surface down a couple of cm.
The table drain was deeper because that where the water was channelled & it just sits in there soaking through. I was just hoping that Ben in the black GT4 had gone far enough forward so I could get out to a harder surface. Otherwise that strap across the Crown ute's tray was going to get a workout.

You did hit the nail on the head there Stew. The idea being that the times are all compared against an average driver in an average car. This was done due to the selection of classes and not having previous records. The idea was that those who were not out there to be 'serious' would enter the come and try event as if you were not being serious, you don't need to pay the extra to be in the competetive competition as you couldn't seriously expect to win.

However, now that we have times from tests for this year, we'll likely use a percentage of the class 'record' on a test for next years event to give the DPI instead of the comparison to the class average.

Having said all that, I think the system actually did work rather well looking at the times standalone.
