Top weekend, which was never in doubt.

All my return trip issues happened within a few km's of home Bommiedoor tow car dropped to 4 cyls...the unburnt fuel made the exhaust so hot it popped one of the air leveler bags in the rear springs Cash for good pics of GT8

    Well, what a weekend....

Toymods cruise out was smaller than usual, but we still had a blast on the way out, Bells line of road was nice on dry and we had some good fun all the way to Lithgow.

Stopped in Lithgow for a short break before we headed onto Orange.

Unfortunately the second we hit Bathurst the place was swarming with highway patrol cars the red rather mad Celica got pulled staight away and the 2 young guys(sorry fellas didn't catch your names) got pulled too. The rest of us continued through Bathurst and waited for everyone else at the outside of town.

In the end the highway boys spent quite abit of time on the red Celica and it wound up with a defect notice :| Anyway we all met up at Orange for lunch and a regroup. Along the way we picked up a sweet TA23(I think??) Bathurst 1000 car which was truely gorgeous to look at in it's full race trim.

On along the straight roads from Orange much fun was had until it absolutely bucketed down with rain.....

Friday night as always goes well, people hit the cans straight away and we tucked into the welcome dinner and caught up with everyone we hadn't seen in a year.

Highlight for me for Friday....Rona kicking over both my beers, Rona falling into the ice bucket and...yea, Rona had an awesome time

Saturday, Show 'n' Shine, well the weather was pretty average, it was fine in the morning and almost threatened to be a nice day, but around 11am, the skys opened and a nasty light drizzle set in. We all stayed until about 12 before abandoning ship as it was starting to get seriously wet. Kudos to the judges here who walked around all the cars in the rain and marked them off, tough job, especially in the conditions.

Sunday, Khana! With the new Khana layout having 2 courses set up at any one time, and the marshalling area in the middle it made it alot easier to transistion between different course layouts(tests). The surface was fantastic! None of the loose gravel and crap from last year, just solid hotmix, and plenty of runoff space, I didn't get any stonechips from this years Khana. Surface was already pretty slippery, I had no problem gettin the back around, and when it lightly drizzled between each course it worked out that everyone had a dry and wet run on the course, which was a whole lot of fun.

Personally, I should have gone compeditive, after a woeful Khana experience last year using the brakes, clutch and generally getting lost I think I must have got my head around what to do, I got most of the courses right(thanks to Jas and Pete for being navigators), I didn't hit anything and a few runs were some of the fastest for that course. So I'm happy

I was also in awe of the 2 AE86s, some mighty fine linked drifting there. Also, Wagonist chucked that Caldina GTT around light it wasn't a wagon, but the GT4 it was underneath, tops effort!

I must say the Toyotacarclub.net folks from SA, ran a highly professional show. The whole day went off without a hitch and it was alot of fun by all. I think doing most of the paperwork the night before worked out really well, and the co-driver wrist bands also worked really well. Fantastic job!

Sunday night, Awards dinner. Always a good giggle, many raffle tickets bought by all, beers drunk and awards won. I was happy as a JZA80 took out the 6 Cyl RWD and overall Khana trophies, great work Teon. He didn't put up the biggest smoke show, but he didn't miss a cone all day and was bloody consistent. Also my friends Echo picked up a trophy too so I was happy there

Monday morning, time to say out goodbyes and head home. Pretty drearly weather for the trip home, had a small convoy of 2 of us, we parted with the other Celica at Orange. Nice wet cruise over bells line of road, then hit traffic at Kurrajong like you always do before heading home.

All in all a fantastic weekend, I'll be back next year for sure, not sure what I'll be in, but I'll be there!

As for the website....The SA guys have my contact details and will be getting me the Khana times soon, I'll get them on the website.

Photos, I need photos. IB has 28GB of them, which he has promised to post to me, once I get those I'll add them to the gallery. Also, if you have photos IB didn't get off you, please PM me so I can get them posted to me. I'd love any video footage of the Khana too, especially the suction cup cameras on the cars.

If you had any photos you'd like to get on the website straight away PM me and I'll get you to email them to me.

Stay tuned on the website for details of next years event.

    Cheers,

    Alch(Nath)

    Got home at 5:30 pm.

I had the music blarring on the trip home to drown out the rearend clunking noises. Also picked up another issue (on top of the rearend and idle/fuel problems during the weekend) in Wellington when my power stearing started making some major noises and if it wasn't for the CCG boys going out of their way to help me then I probably would have had to get towed home from there !! I can't say anything bad about those guys, they are all absolute champions for helping me out.

A big congratulations to Teon for getting the best 6 cylinder and overall trophy at his first motorkhana, it's a great achievement, considering the competition !!

My car issues pretty much ruined my whole weekend and I'm currently extremely pissed off because of that. If it wasn't for a great bunch of people at the Nationals, I would have gone home early. I'll definitely be back next year and hopefully my car is working at 100%.

Thanks again to everyone that organised this event, it was extremely well run.

Also, a quick thanks to Kristel and Sam for transporting my spare rims.

We left the hotel at 6:30, and rolled out of Dubbo at 7 to make it home by 12:30.

All in all had a really really great weekend... Would have been better if the Supe could have made it though!

(Also would have been better if we had actually gotten some sleep... Shame some people felt the need to act like dickheads until all hours of the morning)

Was great to see a couple of girls out on the khana... You ladies did a great job!!!!! I will definitely be driving if my car is there next year, and hope we can get a few more chickas out there to show these guys how it's done!)

Congrats to all those that won trophies in both the show and shine and the khana... Hopefully more cars will show up next year to spice up the competition a bit so the same people aren't winning all the trophies
