    ?? you said it was still pumping and giving good pressure?
    and that it melts the fuse but doesn7t blow it..

    it sounds like you have a short in your wiring.

    if you connect your battery, to a 10 amp fuse, then to the pump, and then back to the battery, does the fuse blow?

    maybe you get the wires on the relay mixed up?

    guys,
    after further investigation i found out that one of the pin inside my fuse holder was "partially" connected. may be due to vibrations and heat over times the wire just barely connected to the pin. i suspect the wire/pin was arching when the pump is on and heat the fuse holder and melt the fuse all together.
    now problem solved.
