Unleaded petrol was not available in Australia until 1986, so no locally-delivered car had an O2 sensor before that. This includes the RA65 obviously.
I have been running a 22re setup for the last 3 or 4 years on my 18RGEU and have finally decided to tidy things up.
I can't remember if the car I pulled the gear off had an o2 sensor or not.
Can someone with an RA65 with an 18p + 12p ECU tell me if it is supposed to have an oxygen or EGO sensor? It might have still been a leaded petrol model?
The ECU has the pinouts like the one below

actually it is the same as this 2SE one, but it must be the difference between auto and manual or something.

I am about to install a jaycar digital fuel adjuster and thought I should try to get everything right before I start changing things.
Thanks.

no closed loop, no o2, no ESA/VAST. the 22re efi system is very basic. I'm suprised they bothered with a check engine light honestly..
Thanks team, it was my suspicion but was looking for some confirmation.

This is all correct. We got the latter type of 22RE in '85, but as we were still on leaded, we got the early analogue EFI - other markets got the latter type of 22RE along with a different TCCS Efi with o2 sensor. I believe that later 22REs had O2 sensors and the TCCS EFI (Coronas?).
I believe only the 86 models of RA65's and RT142 corona's have an o2 sensor.
As the extractors I purchased are to suit an RA65 and they have a provision for an o2 sensor.
Cheers
Adam
No such thing as an '86 RA65. They were 1985 model year only.
22RE extractors for RA65/Hilux/Corona may well be interchangeable.
Hilux is definately not interchangeable.
It will bolt onto the head no problems, but then you will run into a junk load of clearance issues when you get to the firewall.
RA60 / 65 / RT142 share the same front floor pan, so the 3 of those types of extractors fit no fuss.
If I could have used hilux extractors, I would have sourced some months ago!
