Methanol is the best from the point of veiw of reducing detonation, followed by Acetone and then Benzole in that order. As an addative it should be limited to 10 percent and will give an octane increase of about 5 points. Eg. 98 octane can be increase to 103 octane, or looking at it another way, cheap fuel of say 91 octane with a 10 percent mix of methanol will produce fuel of 96 octane.
Acetone can be used up to 10 percent mix and will give a increase of 3 octane points rather then 5. The major difference from methanol being that due to the higher calorific value of acetone, the consumption does not increase so much, but still provides a higher octane rating. Its function being that it increases the volatility of the mixture without reducing the basic fuel properties too much. 5% being quite enough to use.
Toloul or toluene and xylene are normal components found in just about all fuels. This can be obtained from many chemical warehouses. Such paint supply manufacturers such as "lacnam" make "tolouol". Ask around for it, it isnt all that hard to obtain.

If i were you, id start with 10 percent methanol, 10 percent acetone and then 80 percent 98 ron fuel. I would start with a 11:1 AFR and increase boost and LOWER afr fom there. Can you read spark plugs? Did you say you want to run 2.2 bar? Id be aiming for AFR's in the region of 10:1 if that is the case.

yes i could read plugs but will it still read with the conventional way we normally did when burning on petrol alone?
i did the 10% methanol mix and running at 1.5bar at the moment. and the timing was 21deg on full retard previously. now i still dont see any knock yet when i dial up to 24deg. i see 3% knock on my datalog at 25deg. night time run i dun get any knock on 25deg.

AFR im still doing at 10.5:1 . I would like to know wat kind of timing range should i be running on that kind of boost...as its already above my 3 bar map sensor, i need to full retard well b4 i hit 2bar boost.

as for toluene i would like to try as well... will try to ask around the hardware shop in my region...
Drift Drift Drift and drift untill getting high fever...

There are really only 2 things you can gain from reading plugs. That is Correct timing advance, and mixture strength. The rest mean jack shit when it comes to determining your state of tune. If anything, running with methanol and acetone it will be easier to get a "good read" because of the lesser percentage of impurities/junk in the fuel. With any fuel no matter what the type the two main things we look for when looking at a plug is the heat ring on the porcelin and the length and location of the discolouration on the ground strap. Forget any theories you had about tan colour of the exposed section of plug etc.

You have to start somewhere i suppose, but there is a limit to how retarded you want the ignition timing aswell. Before you know it you will have exhaust valves going through your turbo and out the pipe There are always limits, the bigest limiting factor i see in this case is the fuel. You can only run with so much boost, so much retard and advance timing before it all turns to shit. The only real fix is to upgrade the fuel.

Oh another octane booster you may want to look at is Methylcyclopentadienyl Manganese Tricarbonyl, commonly reffered to as MMT.

Most octane boosters already contain it, but if you could get it in pure form you would be much better off me thinks

Do a wiki search for MMT.
VP race fuels octane booster consist mainly of this
