Not absolutely nothing, It tells me if the valve leaks.

The reason for blowing into the valve is to see if it leaks at low pressures through the sides of the cylinder and valve body and the stopper which is placed at the outlet of the BOV, and it did leak through that stopper. If it leaks at low pressures its going to leak at higher pressures, So sealed up the parts where it leaked from and now It doesnt seem to leak. I was able to hear the leak of the BOV, the piston was shut, but pressure was leaking from the sides of the piston, Think this is because somebody has been hacking at it with a screwdriver or something and made little bumps in it, I have no idea why they did this.

Really it was something I could do in a second, even though the bike pump idea is more effective, I didn't have a working bike pump to use, when I do get one I will use it to test the BOV as well as the whole intake system.

About the comp surge, from what I have heard from other 1g owners, This happens on all 1g-gte's, but nobody seems to know why, probably something to do with the intake piping I have no idea.

are the hack marks also stopping the piston from moving when under load?

That is what I think is happening Old Corollas but I am not sure if that is it, I could Sand down the hack marks, but then the piston would be much smaller than the cylinder creating a leak in the BOV.

I might mount the piston so the hack marks are showing on the outlet side, so they dont contact the cylinder.

buy or borrow new BOV, or get someone to try your BOV on their car that doesn7t surge.. otherwise you are just pissing in the wind with no real clue to why it is happening

Well only thing I can think of is the spring tension and Vacuum line length and width.
Might just be the spring that i need to play around with to get it to the perfect spot, guess Trial and error will fix it. I might try change the spring to softer one.

Thanks for Suggestions, If i do find somebody who is willing to lend me a BOV or exchange I will do it

You are aware that vane type airflow meters (does your 1G use one of these?) also create flutter/compressor surge type noises.

By Vane do you mean it has a flap?

I never knew about them making compressor surge kind of noises, how would that happen? Somehow during sudden closure of the flap when I let off the gas?
