Bull poop. (Note: This is simply my thoughts, disclaimer so as to not be absolute [required for takai ])

Welcome to the 21st century where high comp turbo is where it is at!

    Examples,
1uz with twin turbos... and stock 10.5 CR!
    S2000's with turbos
    etc

I say stock engine, GT35R, bigger injectors, aftermarket (or remapped stock ECU?).

If HG blows, go MLS (Multilayer steel). If blows again, o-ring and copper headgasket.

You also won't devalue it as much as doing an engine swap is my thoughts...

And if at the end of the day you have to give up (I doubt it), you can take your GT35 and aftermarket ECU to the 2jz....

    My thoughts!

    Cheers

google lysholm, whipple, autorotor, ken belle etc

look at the pic next to mercs here..

the 3.2L SLK32 and C32 AMG have a lysholm style SC and run 1 bar. even with the larger motor, you can still probably get 1 bar out of it and not overspin.

all you would need for internals = slightly lower comp pistons and MLS headgasket... maybe

you forget the fact i like doing things once and not having to fix them...i highly doubt the stock rods/ pistons are up to a 600hp challenge...and the more i read about forced induction on the stocker, the more breakages i hear - blocks gone from detonation, blown head gaskets etc...with only 400ish rwhp

You can break a 10hp engine with a crap tune....

I fail to see your point?

Yes you need a good tune with high CR, but you should have that anyway...

i measured the engine bay this arvo, a 1uz with a whipple or similar should fit perfect... there is no room for a decent turbo manifold due to the steering box, this being the reason all turbo amgs have the turbos near the front of the motor..

Surely the steering box is going to prohibit fitment of a 1UZFE, same as it makes it a slut to do 1UZ conversions without doing a rack and pinion at the same time?

nah the steering box is at the back corner sitting on top of the chassis rail, which are 700mm apart...the only thing it may cause an issue with is the extractors, which im sure could be re-directed around it.

My only other option is to find out exactly what bore/ big end size the stock motor is and try and fit a high end forged component in to replace the amg...much the same as the chev small block combo into a 1uz...which to date has revealed zero...

i am wondering what either of my conversion ideas would be like with the 2.77:1 final drive ratio...seeing as most toyotas using these motors use a 3.7 or higher...

with enough torque, it won't matter
1 bar with twinscrew on 1UZ should be enough.

what sort of ecu is appropriate for this? you couldnt get a piggyback obviously to do the job? IM thinking of the chev small block rod with ground crank mod for the 1uz...
