    Default 1jz specific injectors/tune question

hey guys, abit of a question. being a car novice give me a chance learning pretty quick

    my setup includes:
    jdm 1jz - unknown internal work/cams
    hks cam gears
    top mount gt35r - 3inch dump/turbo back
    decent size FMIC
running standard 380cc yellow injectors at 60psi base fuel pressure! though a regulator ( bad i know. but the car come like it and runs virtually fine apart from being a pig on fuel and occasionally stalling as i come to a set of lights)
i have dyno sheet with 223kw atw @ 21psi in QLD weather/98 ron fuel, im sure theres a shit load more in it with a decent tune

anyway, i want to look into a set of 550-650cc injectors and lower the base fuel pressure
    1. so its better on fuel ( off boost ),
and 2. so im not maxing the injectors out and causing any problems

ECU is a greddy emanage blue,

How should i go about it?. i know the emanage has a fuel trim option with standard and upgraded injector inputs ( but its thrown out since the fuel pressure isnt stock)

or should i drop the injectors off with the car and tell the tuner i want this this and this?

    much much appreciated!

it doesnt matter what size SARD injector you buy, they all cost the same. So pick a size that your emanage can handle and also support your power goals.

remove the aftermarket FPR and install the stock unit. install injectors and unless your proficient with the emanage, tilt tray your car to your preferred tuner.

i know of a few setups hitting 270rwkw + with the same type setup on around 18psi. i think that would be pretty ideal as i want it reliable aswell

why would you remove the aftermarket regulator if its 1:1? ( not sure that it is but i suspect it is ). surely it can be turned down to 38-40psi base pressure?

better yet, tell me why you need an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator if your running appropriately sized injectors?

although when i baught the car, it had one so it may aswell be used? providing it holds the pressure i need.

what are people paying for a decent tune?

the a/m fpr has more potential to cause problems compared to the stock unit. the stock unit has been proven to be reliable on many high kw cars. if its already on there i suppose if its setup right it can stay.

tuning costs vary, call up your tuner and give him the details of your setup for a proper quote. expect to pay around $150 per hour... tuning something like a SAFC takes no more than an hour where as tuning a stand alone from scratch takes a day.

I made over 340rwkw with a std 1jz FPR. I would not go AF, I did and changes back as it was causing problems when tuning with a EMU.

i have a funny feeling with the factory FPR back on, your car wont start. you will need to correct the sizing on your management before hand.

emanage couldnt be simpler to tune for larger injectors.

just plug your laptop in, fire up the software, whack in your old injector size, and your new injector size, and the software takes care of the rest.

would i have to tell the emanage my old injector size is 494cc? as standard injectors 380cc + the 20% increase in fuel pressure?

the new injector size would be stock 38-40Psi base 650/800 depending on what i come across

    still learning

if you put the factory reg back on, then the old and new injector settings in the emanage should suffice (should start the car).

edit: no it wont because the emanage is still tuned for wild rail pressure
maybe reset the emanage, then input injector sizing then see if it drives.

does the emanage blue allow for injector changes eldar?
