Hi all,
I've taken up Sillycar Chick's suggestion to provide photos of throttle cable/linkage options for the various car/engine combinations out there and created this thread.
Here is our chance to help others when trying to work out how to connect pedal to throttle.
I'll start the ball rolling with what I know best. Mikuni/Solex carbies. Some of the latest conversions I have done for people. I'll be posting pictures of what I do at the other end of the cable soon. More from me to come.
In order:
18R-G Solex cable.
44mm Mikunis on 2T-G manifold for September Squall

My basic cable I start with is a Ford V8 accelerator cable. Wont give away what I do with it as it is part of a kit that I make up for sale.
I can PM you with more details.
What I intend to show over the next few weeks is a variety of my conversions as I dig up photos and I hope others will do likewise to give plenty of ideas.
September Squall has set me a challange to come up with a cable for a typical Toyota EFI to TA-22 cable kit.

I recently built one for my ITBs on my 18R-G but found that using this "pull" system leads to a very noticeable non linear movement of the throttles. I suggest trying to mount a pulley on the throttle/s shaft to get this much desired "linear movement" of the throttle.
Here is a pic of my current system:

I use KE30 and MX73 cables almost exclusively, although I used a VZV21 cable for the 1UZ Crown.
The carby/throttle body end is generally left alone and I modfy the linkage to accept the throttle end of the cable. I then use a cut bit of cable to work out how much cable "throw" or length is required to go from fully closed to fully open. Then using a ruler I find where on the throttle pedal shaft (above the pivot point) gets x amount of throw and mark it. I then weld a tab to the shaft at that point and then modify the tab to accept the pedal end of the cable. Drill a hole in the firewall, fit a grommet and a couple of nutserts to fix the cable to the firewall. Job done and looks factory.
MX62's and MS112 crowns are perfect candidates for throttle cable conversions. although these cables are more suited to the inlet of the engine being on the passenger side of the car.
an alternative cable to use if your inlet is on the driver side is from the RT142/RA65.
i welded a nut on each side of the pivot on the throttle pedal "rod". this allows easy adjustment for min and max throttle settings. the bolt simply contacts the firewall to stop the cable being stretched or the throttle pedal protruding too far back

Finally making a start on showing the pedal end of my set-ups I use.
First up is what I am using in my Three Tone Green TA-22. It uses a Mikuni 2T manifold and as such uses a T-type inner cable fitting on the manifold lever. So I chose to make up the cable with motorcycle mechanical front brake cable components.
To note is that I use the original pedal arm that is bolted to the fire wall and in most cases I drill off the existing 8mm ball and replace with various fittings.

Here is the throttle setup for my 21R with Weber 34ADM in my Corona.
Three plates of 3mm aluminium and a few bolts, cost me $0's.
Looks dodgy, but works perfectly... gives very nice throttle control too.
There is no reason why this idea couldnt be used to make a less dodgy, better looking version.

Oh, and the cable came with the carb off a XF Falcon.

Hi all,
Finally got a chance to take some pictures of how I do the firewall
end of the cable kits I make up.
Right at this point in time I do not have an 18R-G
manifold to mount a set of carbies to, to show
how the cable bracket fits. Appologies. A 2T-G set up is on the way.
The first pictures are the most common I use for the 2T-G/Solex
and 18R-G/Solex with the ball fitting at the carby end.
The next set are for the alternate method using the
Mikuni carby linkages as seen on the 2T manifold
and September Squall's 2T-G manifold.
These have the inner cable clamp at the throttle bar end.
This is how it looks on the enginebay side.
All the pictures are taken with the various
versions set up on my Race TA-22 shell
that I am currently preparing for its cage,
but it gives an idea of how it goes together.
I also had the room to swing a camera.
Also shown is the hanging pedal as
I have used in my old shell.
Not a pretty piece of metal but an example
of how it can be done using the standard arrangement.
There are still adjustments to be made in
the final set up, such as bending slightly
the top of the lever to better line up with the cable.
The result is a pedal travel of around 60mm
when adjusted correctly.
