    Default 4agze belt slip.

in my aw11 im getting a squealing noise when i rev my car above 5000RPM, which after some reading leads me to believe my belt is slipping. Despite my searching i cant seem to find any info on how to actually tighten the belt.. beyond 'a tensioning gauge is highly recommended' i know this might be a rather simplistc question but any help is greatly
appreciated.. also how do u change the oil in the supercharger?

to tigheten the SC belt get under the car and you will see a tensioner on the SC belt (below the water pump) this will have a 14mm nut on it... loosen this nut.

remove the coolant overflow tank and look down between the SC body and the head and you will see a bolt head (again14mm) using an extension bar tigheten up this bolt. this will add more tension to the belt. ive always tensioned such that there is about 5-10mm of deflection on the run of belt between the sc and the water pump with a firm thumb press.

then tighten up the locking nut on the front of the tensioner and bobs your uncle.

you will also find old belts tend to slip worse then new ones. so if your belt is old and looking perished a nice fresh belt often is a good investment

I found the bolt that go's thru the tensioner pulley can get very tight. I highly reccomend using a 6 flat socket and not a 12 point socket as rounding off that nut would be megga inconveniant .

very true although you can often have problems getting a ratchet in there in terms of clearance the the chassis rail. an offset ring spanner works well (box spanner) if you feel you are rounding the nut you can drop the three bolts holding the RHS engine mount and this will lower the engine about 2" enough for you yo get a ratchet and better socket on there

you must use an offset box end ring spanner as opposed to a single angle(?) ring spanner to get into nut inside the idler pulley or you will round it... 14mm.
14mm deep socket and about 15 inches of extension bar to get into the adjuster.

welding a larger deep nut onto the original nut makes it much easier to get a normal ring spanner onto it to loosen or tighten (specialy when useing a smaller idler/tensioner). then you can do it from above once the overflow bottle is removed as well.

as in tightness of the belt, i do it up fkn tight!
