    Default Bigger 4A/7A oil filter

I popped into Toyota today to look for a bigger oil filter for the Suzuki engine in my racing car, (have been using a 4AGE/3SGTE one) and the guy behind the counter came out with a 1UZ one. It fits the Suzuki engine neatly, and out of curiosity I measured it up against the 7A block I have downstairs and I reckon it'll just fit. The o-ring will be right up against the outer edge of the mounting surface on the block, but I reckon it'll fit.
I measured the 4AGE filter and the 1UZ one, and the 1UZ one is about 48% larger in volume. The part number is 90915-YZZD4.
Thought some might find that of interest, if you're chasing a little less restriction and better filtering.

i sue the D2/D4 filters on my hilux and was planning to start using them on my 4ag once i install the new oil cooler/filter felocation plate as it'll happily take a bigger filter although it must be a pretty tight fit onto the 4a mount.

You can also ask for a YZZE2. It is the same diameter as the standard filter (YZZE1) but is longer. Used on Camry's etc.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, I'll have to check that out.... I wonder if the mocal adapter is wide enough?

This might have to be merged with the cross compatibility thread..............

I've used the early Ford V8 filters on most of the Toyota engines I've had.
Anti drain back "valve" & 1 quart capacity ...just check the thread pitch & O ring dia in the catalog to be sure.

I just found this which may be of use to people...

Ryco's website has a very handy search that lets you specify dimensions & thread.
