    Default "EZ-Wiring" harness help alternator?

    hey guys

i have bought an EZ wiring harness while most of the installation is going smoothly i seem to have hit a wall when it comes to the alternator this harness has 2 wires for the alt, 1 is hot from battery through fuse panel, and the second is an excitor which only originates from the fuse panel (i can only assume becomes hot when key at ON). The altenator worked with my old wiring which had one comming from IGN, one from the charge light, and the last one was to B+. Whats going to be the best way to wire a 3 wire denso unit with only 2 wires? i no longer have a charge light in the dash so what can a brother do?

there is a link to the manual i found online has stuff about ford gm and mopar alternators

    thanks

Simple answer, fit an alternator warning light and wire it up. The other option is to use a resistor instead of the warning light. I have done this before on plant equipment but I can't remember what rating the resistor was.

trying to remember my wiring diagrams, the charge light is a constant trigger for one of the relays (engine main I think).

    Lamp - as above
Sense - to batt (links to B+)
IG - to a fuse to engine main relay

    B+ - to batt

nah its not in this case (entirely new harness) the only relay in this harness is the horn relay (silly americans), ive added headlight, highbeam and a main efi but none of those have anything to do with the alternator, i guess i will just throw in a resistor or two then ground for the charge light pin. thanks all

If you decide to use the resistor you need to wire it the same as you would for a warning light ie ignition - resistor - warning light terminal on alternator.
