Looks like the Toyota Part Number is: 89462-20010
Anyone know where to get one other than Toyota?
Edit: Been whipping google hard and no luck, looks like I have to bite the bullet and pay the cash. Such is life....
Alright, tests done! Switch has to be dead...
After looking at the material 7M-GTE MX73 so kindly posted (thanks mate) it looks as though the CSI is supposed to fire at 'non-artic' temps. Check out page 21, it has a temp profile of how long the switch is to fire in relation to temp.
I checked voltage was making it to the switch during cranking and it is. I then fired the CSI manually while cranking and she sprang into life just like a good 4A should! WooHoo!
So I need a new cold start time switch.![]()
Went to the local Toyota wrecker to search for one, they had 10 or so from 4A series donks but couldn't find one with the right plug. Bah!

That part number doesn't come up at all for me in the EPC...Originally Posted by 88AW11SC
I can find
89462-30011, 8406-8808, Switch start injector time
89462-20030, 8808-9812, Switch start injector time
What year/month is your car?

I think you may messed up the second part no. there, I'm guessing you meant to write 89462-20030?Originally Posted by wilbo666
If its the 89462-30011 they are easy to find, just pull one off any big port 4AGE, as well as a host of other vehicles.
If its the 89462-20030 then you're in for much more fun trying to find one, they are much less common but can be found on small port 4AGE's.
If you want lists of all the cars which have them I can make a PDF of the EPC page which has it.
I want to do your engine conversion wiring for you, PM me.
I'm not sure about the set of digits at the end of the part number (89462-?????). I had pieced the end section together with nothing more than some deductive reasoning.
Golberg that PDF would come in very handy while trying to replace this thing. Chrisso (the champ) is sending me one via post but it seems there are a wide range of these things - it may not be the correct item.
Im not sure what month she is, it was a JDM import and it is not stated on any of the factory plates.
All I can tell you is she is a 1988 factory GZE. The switch itself looks identical to the one pictured here: http://www.gtfours.co.uk/stuff/for_sale/007.jpg.
That would be the earlier type you have there, an 89462-30011
Here is the list of cars they are in:
http://boxstr.com/files/3432966_cexms/89462-30011.pdf
It's the same sensor that is in any AW11 basically, 4AGZE or 4AGE
I should add, If Chrisso's one looks like the one in the picture it almost certainly is the one you need. As far as I am aware they were pretty universal, I guess look at the list of cars they are in, they're not exactly model specific.

You are spot on Goldberg: P/N is 89462-30011
I went to mates place whom has the EPC and had a look, sure enough its the 30011.
We weren't skilled enough to get a list of vehicles that part fitted so your PDF is great info - thank you.
Thanks to everyone that helped out here, special mention to Chrisso. I'm constantly amazed at the collective knowledge available in these forums - its an asset!
I'll report back once a switch is installed and let you know how it went.
Thanks,
Matt.
P.S Do I mark this post as resolved now?
