the new paintjob has made it heavier, and thus slower [/expert]

It is possible that the leak made a difference to power, particularly if it was pre-cat
did the last dyno tune have the suby WAIC?

Hahha white is of course, one of the heavier colours

Yeah, see that's what I'm thinking, as the leak was pre-cat (Busted flex pipe), and the cat was stuffed, and the holes were rather um, free flowing, so the exhaust probably thought "eh bugger that restrictive route"

I'm wondering if it's worth investing in a straight-through muffler now (such as a Lukey Ultra Flow, I believe it's a turboflow atm, which is a baffled setup)

Any idea what the increase in noise would be like

Inertia heard the car with the old exhaust. "Substantial" is an understatement.

unbolt it and see how much power you pick up.
will tell you how much the exhaust is robbing from it

Yeah, and then same generic with a lukey straight through replacing the 5" cannon.

Why don't you go to 2.5"? Get some decent straight through mufflers and a big resonator or two.

Your leak was probably acting like a crude side-exit dump pipe. It stands to reason that the restriction of the entire exhaust will rob power.

Its 2.25 already, 2.5 showed no improvements over the 2.25 setup in a back to back dyno setup.

I'm going down to from 2.5/2.25" to 2" with cat, centre muffler and twin tip job at the back with my gze, the new FGK extractors i purchased finish with 2" so going to continue that all the way to the back muffler and see what's what at the end of the day...

I use the car as my daily driver and am a bit over the in cabin noise of the current system, not to mention the new leaks...
