Default 1jzgte BHG or head crack

well looks like i have one of them on my 1jz.
Getting some good cream under the oil cap now.

I've tried researching the best way to go about fixing it, but since theres so little cases of this happening on a 1j i'm a bit lost.

    1. If its a cracked head, wud the crack be repairable? Or should i be looking for a head.
    2. Would it be cheaper replacing the motor? (i'll be doing work myself, except for any head work needed)
    3. What are the chances my block is warped and wud require work?

    Any suggestions wud mean alot!

mate it could be either, but 1jz`s are dirt cheap if you got the motivation just purchase a complete short motor from a wrecker... and swap everything over...

    1. shouldnt be too hard finding a 2nd hand one to get reconditioned
    2. depends how cheap you can get them over there
    3. block should be fine

I know in NSW you can get a long motor without turbos for about $700ish...

It depends how motivated you are...

You can get the headgasket for $168 (I got one not too long ago)
1JZ-GTE Head Gasket (Toyota: 11115-88410), $167.98, Southside Toyota

Or as said the other option is to find a long motor (no manifolds), and swap your stuff over! This is prbly the same amount of work as doing the head gasket, but less risk

You should be able to find a long motor for around $5-600...

    The choice is yours

mine same as above. i got ARP headstuds as well. had a problem with it sealing but sorted that out as well. it ended up costing me about 1100 including head recon and gaskets and stuff. that was at a workshop as well
