castor castor castor castor castor castor

Actually i can but it's a royal PITA and given how the lower A arms work i'm not at all comfortable with the extra stresses it would cause.

other way is moving the strut top back, but i don't think that achieves the same thing?

    Yeah it does.
You can do it by using a plain old set of strut-top camber adjusters, but turning them 90° so the strut goes fore/aft instead.

Hmmm OK need to look into this a bit more. I might be able to turn my TEIN strut tops which will give a combo camber/castor adjustment and then get the rest of my camber with the cambers pins?

Now moving the wheel forward to get castor has implications for bu,mp steer as it moves the steering knuckle relative to the rack...anything in particular to be aware of moving the top back?

Only spring clearance to inner strut tower, as for camber that I know of, Justen.

Can you reposition the tops 30 degrees around, re-drilling three hole to give you camber and castor adjustment? Of course camber and castor would be limited to each other's setting. The problem of single plane of movement, strut tops.

it will move wheel back, but by a much smaller amount.
say strut is 400mm long and you move top back 20mm. thats 2.8deg strut angle change

if the centre of wheel is say, 50mm from the bottom of the strut, then it will move back 2.5mm (50/400 * 20)

as far as using strut top sto get camber and castor, are they maxed out now?
if you turn them 45 deg, then you can 70% of max camber, as both camber and castor.

if you are not using max camber adjustment now, then you can easily work out (by trig) how far to turn the strut top, to give that amount, plus a given amount of castor.

just need to know a) length of strut from ball joint to strut top, b) max distance able to move at strut top, c) current and desired castor and camber
