I run a "HKS Copy" 40mm external wastegate of ebay origin, came with gaskets, bolts, weld-on flanges etc and has been fine in service so far. Had to purchase an additional spring though, the original listing said it was 8psi, but it was actually 24psi fortunately I tested it before fitting to the car

Only thing that it possibly lacks over a more expensive alternative is the amount of valve lift, which isn't huge, but in reality hasn't caused any boost control issues.

    Cheers

from personal experience, i have the chinese ct12A's, failed within 500km's, was bedding in a clutch at the same time so was driving fairly sedately.
1 friend went ebay crazy and boiught heaps of stuff for his 180sx, turbo, manifold, hicas cancel bar and dump pipes.

the turbo failed within 1 day, the manifold is fine, the hicas canceler was terribly wrong and had to be cut and rewelded to actualy fit and the dump pipes were horribly misaligned.

another bought a hks copy wastegate, it failed, swapped it, worked for a while then failed, he rebuilt it with genuine HKS parts (~$170) and its fine

Have bought JustJap 'Cooling Pro' intercooler (~$150) and aluminum S15 rad (a run-out non-polished model for only ~$200). Both were fine - especially for the price!

Ebay seller "gt01gt" sells electric fans that rock for the price also, come with nice mounting kits etc.

stefan, thanks for the good info,

Guys i am only now getting into the whole ebay scene, can people be more specific with the brand, price, (seller maybe) especially if it is a either end of the spectrum.

If its a good buy, spread the word, if its a crap buy spread the word, but give specifics otherwise the info is useless and just either gives people false confidence of pesimistic tendencies and turns people off.

Item - Adjustable boost controller (Turbosmart copy)
Seller - Flyn or or somthing similar
    Price - ~$30
    Verdict - Crap.
    Rating - *
Comments - I bought it to to run for a couple of weeks while something else was in the works, it had poor adjustment and was of very poor quality.

    Item - Turbotech boostcontroller
    Seller - the turbotech maker
    Price - ~$25
Verdict - Worked fine, but I got rid of it for an EBC
    Rating - ****

    Item - Oil cooler core
Seller - some online parts store on ebay
    Price - $60
Verdict - Shit, no one sold fittings that would work on the female fittings on the core.
    Rating - no stars

    Item - 12" Thermofan
    Seller - can't remember?
    Price - $40
Verdict - worksmanship and general quality is fine but the brushed motor lacks the punch of more expensive units.

My personal opinion only (don't want to get the 'mods in trouble), i'd stay away from anything from the 'flyn' seller, whilst they appear to have many performance oriented products, they are poor quality and generic in design, and perhaps intentionally vague in the product descriptions. Don't get caught out buying stainless mandrel bends either, they are a very thin gauge, too light for most automotive applications.

Its difficult to list sellers of good deals, as they often tend to be online with a sellers account for a limited time, or only carry limited stock before selling out. Such is the nature of a cheap deal hey

And unless you purchase from an ebay store that is a reputable seller with an ACTUAL physical shopfront (such as JustJap) rather than just a garage full of stuff, don't expect too much after sales support or warranty.

These days i'm much more inclined to purchase from proper businesses that operate their own online store (such as otomoto, racespec etc) rather than ebay stores.

He's talking about the cast log type manifolds not the tubular stainless manifolds you are referring to.
