Looks Mc'sketchy...
Cheap + eBay + suspension = Not a good idea imo. I wouldn't be surprised if the springs sag or bend.
I saw this on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/HONDA-CIVIC-I...QQcmdZViewItem
and its just $145 + $35 post
Now it says 52mm inside diameter so what I am thinking is that it might be worthwhile to buy these for out toyota's, ditch the springs, use two collars and then sell the other pair. Has anyone tried these?

yeah I know thats why I said to ditch the springs, its the collars that I think might be worthwhile, your probably right about them too though, could be any grade of cheap iron

(I have a problem with buying stuff when I see it cheap)
Dude these are cheese alloy sleeves how will you weld them to the strut??
Get the weld on ones from importbitz, the kit cost me $275,
OR,
I dont know if they will fit your car but damn site cheaper at around $200 for the kit, phone maddat motorsport in south australia, he has a local supplier who is making them at the moment, Craig on 0412 1600 25.
robert: oh yes I so know what you mean, I have been though that a few times now. I will ask him if they are steel.
whats that kit include rollin?
its a koni coilover sleeve kit.. ive got one too, just make a decision about the spring ID you want.
go to a machine shop and get them to make the sleeves for you application. You'd the know its made properly. You wouldnt have to hope their going to be ok if you know their made right!
Why risk a cheap ebay buy on a front end of a car

The importbitz ones arent actually koni, they are just made up by the aus koni distributor/importer, both kits (importbitz and maddat) comes with two threaded sleeves, top and bottom spring seats and a locking nut for under the lower spring seat, also two spanners.
Topsecret, why pay to have one-offs made up by an engineering or machine shop for a premium price, when something has already been designed and made somewhere else and is sold for a lower price because they arent just one-offs??
sprinter and RA40 strut tubes are 2" not 50 or 52mm. At work I have the correct weld-on sleeves for 65mm ID coils. Avoid the alloy ones as you have to make and then weld, a separate steel locating ring-this just adds to the cost
hate to say it dude but 2" is pretty damn close to 52mm, 2" is about 52.8mm, you will probably find even a strut that is 52 mm will be marked at 2"
Dont forget that Importbitz can also supply the Koni coilover sleeve kits![]()
...... butt scratcher?!
i think you need a maths lesson. 2" is close enough to 50.8mm.
the problem is the common 50mm ones dont fit and have to be bored out. if the sleeves are alloy, they often get too thin at the root of the thread to carry the load. . The available 52mm are too sloppy, dont centre on the strut and therfore dont weld on securely or nicely. The correct 2" ones press on very nicely, are easy to weld and have full thread depth. do it right, do it once!!
what he said.. Wilbo's coil-over (steel) sleeves are a tight fit over the struts, the paint had to removed (as well as the obvious metal bits like the spring seat) to allow the sleeve to allow the sleeve to slide all the way down.
You want that sleeve to be a snug fit on the strut.
thanks for the tips guys
