Johnny Cash is my Navigator.
never tried it my self but from what ive heard, to stop the cracking people have just been bracing the turbo with a bracket to somthing solid and never had any issueOriginally Posted by cuzzo
Yeah works out to be around $760 if you imported that through Import Monster for example, but you're paying them $125 (25%) in commission fees and $70 in GST. (They also seem to add a little bit extra to the shipping cost)Originally Posted by MR 1JZ
If you can find an importer in Japan it would be a bit cheaper cause they usually don't charge as much commission (I know a few who only charge 10%) and they don't have to charge you GST either.
i brought a BOV from Ebay, cost $25 and worked great on my RB20 with stock boost, made the adaptor my self for freemosterperformance was the seller i think,
also had a justjap intercooler and was fine![]()
I bought a BOV from FPI on eBay, has done a good job so far, ideal for around 1 bar boost and is plumb back. Sturdy as hell and machining seems pretty good. I can't remember the price it was a while ago but I can't see it being more than $60 if that.
I've bought all sorts of car parts on ebay but the vast majority of the stuff has been genuine brand name stuff.

AC/DC Tig - around $1200, works very nicely.
Plasma cutter - around $300 - useless...
Strange things are afoot at the circle K
ebay TIG (me) - great
intercooler (me/friends) - good
piping (me/friends) - good
digital scales 0.1g (me) - good
stainless turbo manifolds (friends) - failtown .. all have cracked, mainly at collector
cast manifolds (friends) - good
wastegates (friends) - awful. all of them leak, or can't hold boost well
various air tools (me) - good
dial indicator (me) - good
that's it for now!
Toymods does have fairly strict rules when it comes to posting up links to items for sale.
Members should probably look into this before posting links to ebay sellers...
...
I am not looking for a flaming contest, as I think an "Items I have seen on Ebay etc" thread would be a good thing (as are the ones I see on other sites) but as the current rules stand,(by my understanding) it isnt allowed here...
I am just letting other members know which way the wind blows.... all complaints and requests for clarrification, should be addressed to the management
Perhaps a Mod could expand on this a little?
I have been talking via MSN with a person from www.marsperformance.com, which is also an ebay store. I asked them about their Blow off valves, and they said that they are HKS replica's and use the same materials as HKS do.
