I take it youre still new to Toyotas and had no idea what to search for - even though you have been here a while.

The two gearboxes you would be looking to be directly compatible are the R154 and the W58. A factory manual MA70 uses the R154 as it is a much larger/stronger gearbox but the W58 was used for manual versions of the 7M-GE. It is obviously much more expensive as its also considered rare (there is one going for sale for $1300 complete for a 7M)

Also, these two gearboxes use a common gear housing with a unique bellhousing - meaning a R154 from a 1JZ with the bellhousing and flywheel swapped to suit a 7M would be ok too. Not sure about the exact details on the W58 (which are also avail on 1G-GE/GTE motors) relating to clutch/flywheel.

Dont forget that there is a host of other things that need changing/modifying (driveshaft, pedals, ECU, lines, console) to complete your conversion so make sure you understand all these and price around to compare the prices individually to a 'full kit'.

Have another search for those gearboxes and see what else you find out. if you have any more questions, then ask.
