    Default W58 Bolts

I need to know what bolts i need to bolt my W58 bellhousing to my 1GGTE. Is there anyway of finding out what i need to know. Is there any online info, like tech docs or something?

More than likely they will be an M12 x 1.25. I honestly couldn't tell you what length but it is easy enough to put the tail of a Vernier caliper into the thread in the block and add that to the thickness of the bellhousing where the bolt passes through.

Maybe someone here has some spare that they could measure?

Also forgot to add, so they are nothing special, just run of the mil?

run of mill - yes. There is a combination of mostly M12 x 1.25 (quite rightly pointed out by GT) and about 4 x M10 x 1.25.
I dead set reckon that you could pull the bolts out of just about any Toyota (IE 2wd HiLux) and you'd be just about there..
    YelloRolla's KE20 1/4mi = 11.32 @ 119mph @ 22psi on slicks
    12.44 @ 113 mph on 165 wide street tyres
210rwkw - not bad for a smelly 3TGTE running pump fuel.

thanks guys, i just read somewhere i couldnt use the ones comming off my auto box, so i'll just wait till i pull it off to measure the length. Originally i wanted to have everything there ready to go but these wont be hard to get t all.

Thanks again, ohh by the way, would the bolts differ from the auto - manual x-member?

The x-member bolts will be fine, as will the gearbox mount bolts (and indeed the auto gearbox mount I'm quite sure).

I guess it depends on the car, I can say that MX62 cressida (auto) was the same as the W55 SA63 one that I used.

MA61's (which share the same MX62 auto) have a slightly different looking design, and I think that it sits ever so slightly lower?, and the auto and manual MA61 are physically interchangeable however they have different part numbers so undoubtable there is a difference there (I can't see what it is however)...that fact also means that just because you have a 'manual' mount, it may not be the correct one for the car?

Also the autos I have seen (A43D, A340) share the same bolt position for the mounts and mounts that look very similar to the manual version. The mounts may not be EXACTLY the same so bear that in mind (the whole different car thing) They should still bolt up in my experience.

    Cheers

I would just make sure they are hight tensile

If a toyota bolt is used makes sure it has 7 or even better a 8 on the head. If after market 8.8 should be written on the head.

Metric 8.8 is the equivalent of SAE Grade 5
Metric 10.9 is the equivalent of SAE Grade 8

I have put this in because I feel that it is important for someone wanting to do a job that requires really tough bolts and thinking that grade 8.8 will do it.
