thanks - had plenty of help and it certainly makes it easy with the majority of people being toymods!

Yeah, sorry about the "no official timing" - it would have changed the day to needing some sort of CAMS license - we dont need any license other than street. EC are a whole lot stricter than Wakefield, but i guess we have to expect that being the type of track it is.

Water - check!! plenty....if we run out of munchies/drinks, ill just go get more - servo up the road

as for a free spot....mmm, evo65m requested first free spot. I have got 1 more spot at the track to be confirmed by 4 this afternoon. If i havent heard from evo65m by 4:00 today, then greatbuzup, the spot will be yours - pm sent to you

Grouping at similar speeds is the preferable way to go.

Otherwise it can get messy (no pun intended)

Its ok if you run different speed cars together but it just means everyone needs to be alot more vigilant with the mirrors and have clear instruction about overtaking.

That is something like only overtaking on the straights once the person in front has signalled you past.

So no overtaking in corners or under brakes etc, presumably there is no racing !

all should be clarified at the drivers breifing

Gunmetal is correct. In terms of driver grouping we do have the option to just have our group put together, but i think driver/car ability grouping is the better way to go.

They will work out people's ability on the day after a few laps and move you throughout the day if needed

As for timing and racing....officially, the direction from the organiser "this is not timed and is not a speed event"

Once again....just use common sense on the above

My understanding is none of the track days we usually attend are meant to be timed unless they are set up and covered for it...that is correct, isnt it???

We don't run our wakefield's as officially timed as it keeps costs (insurance + timing) down and allows us passengers, but you can. Was just asking as all (hmm, maybe most of???) the Driving Solutions days i've done at EC have been Natsoft timed.

Moving between groups will probably just be if people ask or are 'identified as needing additional instruction' - no timing makes it difficult to match similar cars otherwise - and it's cornering where it's important, not the straights, as you don't get held up on the straights, you just overtake.

So is the general rule no overtaking on corners unless waved through?

    ok, thanks

not 100% sure on the overtaking rules - i have only driven wakefiled - the guys who have done EC can give more info...

we will be given a full briefing tmrw morning.I assume it is common sense tho - i wouldnt think you have to wait all the way to the straight, but i cannot confirm atm, sorry

Overtaking on the days i've done is pretty much the same as how we treat it at wakefield, and is common sense much like messy described - just being a different track means it might happen a little differently. I'd expect them to say it's on the straights and waved through anywhere else only, just keep in mind there's a lot more room to get past around parts of EC than WP that aren't technically straights; between turns 1&2, 5&6, 9&10 for instance.

Once again, keep an eye on your mirrors and if you're holding someone up, wave them through when there's room and you're comfortable doing it, even if it means you have to back off. And if they're in your mirrors all through the back part don't assume you're not holding them up just because they don't overtake down the straight...
