    Default Celsior ball joints- interchangability?

hey, i need to do the ball joints on my celsior...

Mainly the front left upper ball joint...

Its a single piece unit attached to the upper control arm...

What i want to know is... are these interchangable with anything else..

    Is there aftermarket options?

Is there a way to do it without replacing the upper control arm?

    Pirces etc...

I got quoted $1341 per side from toyota.... Needless to say i told them to suck my left one..

anyway.. any help would be appreciated..

    cheers

I pay a little over $100 each to get them rebuilt through Odin Autos.

Or you can buy new aftermarket ones from eBay USA if you want to go that way.

I have not constructive input but doe the balljoint sit in the hub or the lower arm?

This guy had one fail on him (gs300) and theres some pics in the thread.

    Identical to that.

One ball joint in the lower arm that bolts to the hub, and one ball joint in the upper arm that bolts to the hub.

I paid a little under $100 a joint, so I'd expect probably $110ish retail, not sure though.

Odins is in Balcatta. Coff33 knows the place well.

    Haha.

By the way, I'm not sure of the turn around time, I wasn't in a hurry when I got mine done (got all 4 fronts redone)

From those pics it doesnt look like much could be done to make the arms accomodate a replacable/sealed ball joint, i havent seen one in person but would i be correct in assuming this.

Thats cool, i still got the audi to drive around in till i sell it... so im not too fussed about how long it takes...

ill do both sides upper and lower, and replace the dodgy tie rod ends too..

That should get rid of all my front end noises..

Hey, on a side not, what sort of power mods do you suggest for the 1u...

I know exhaust... but im not too keen on making it any louder... wouldnt mind i guess.. just dont wanna make it too loud..

    any other suggestions..

    cheers

If you don't want to do exhaust there really isn't out there unless you step up to getting a supercharger.

You can try get a Mines ECU, they pop up on SoarerCentral occasionally. Supposed to be really good, but like the Supra it would be a bit hit and miss.

Hi, I can service your existing ball joint and make them like new or better with a 2yr or 30000km warrantee. just SEND THE ARMS to me no need to remove the ball joints even if you can if you think they may get damaged in the removal proccess. I will save you heaps call 0408 752 070 ask for Alex
