*4AG starter motor* works but not in car

My car wont start, so I go to pick a part and get another Starter, get home put it in my car and the car still wont start, so I pull it apart and replace a bush that was worn but everything else looks fine, put it back in the car and it still doesn't work!!! so I pull it out and test it with some jumper leads, and it works fine, then I tested to see if the starter was getting power with my test light, and it is

so now what the hell do i do?

Its getting power, it deffinatly works, but as soon as i hook it up to my car it won't do anything.

Please help, I'm sick of roll starting it.

Hey there mate....

check to see if u can turn the motor over by hand...

Also check all earh wires.. common for the 4a to burn out the small earth wire from motor to body witch will stop starter... even with the big one connected...
easy way to test.. add a wire from motor to body


if the extra wire doesnt change then possible the starter cant work under load.. ie to turn motor over

the extra wire should be the trick....

haha i was about to say bad earth, i had the same issue with teh 20v bad earth = ghey
