    Default 2tg oil coolers fitment?

    Hi all

Does any one have any experience in fitting an oil cooler to a 2tg?

It has been recommended to me a number of times for my club car, and I wondered whether I might short cut the process by drawing on experiences here.

Anyone have any recommendations for what works or doesn't ?

    thanks in advance

Fit an oil temp gauge and find out if it needs it. Temps reaching 120 degrees on the track and you'll need one.

EDIT: In this time of year I'd fit one if I saw 115 degrees as once the warmer months rolla around that'll easily push toward 120.

PM Rodger on here as he has been tracking his T engined celica a bit lately and see what he runs in the way of an oil cooler.

Trying to do preventative work before I hit the track - guys in my car club have developed a theory over the years that 2tg's survive circuit work with oil coolers, and have seen a few failures when they aren't run.

Have to figure out what sandwich plate to get - does any one know off the top of their head what the thread is on a 2tg oil filter mount?

I got my sandwich plate from earls, I gave them my oil filter (Z89) and they matched it up to their data base.

most 3T-GTE's have a factory oil cooler setup that bolts straight onto most T-series engines

    hard part is finding one.

If you do get one, be sure to get the 2 special bolts, one for the centre to hold it there and one from the fuel pump cover that has a locator to prevent rotation.
