    .... and so it pays to shop around, and maybe use GOOGLE with the words "diy alternator overhaul".....

    enough said! I'm doing a cheap/quick adult learning auto electrics course atm and the teacher showed us how to do an overhaul ourselves, i dunno if i could repeat it but definitely worth doing yourself!.
