might do down southern land... but afaik in qld it's taboo... along the same lines as chopping springs, people do it, and there's probably engineers who'll pass it.. but they're the same engineers who don't even look at the car.

will be ordering my suziki rotors today... fingers crossed it's not a waste of money

merc-blue - as for callipers flexing... they probably do, but i'm sure the flex doesn't make them THAT innefficient, otherwise manufacturers would never use them...

Many of the guys who do the superstrut to AE92 conversion have to redrill and cut down the GT4 rotor for it. Quite a few of them are in Queensland (Jason Purcell, Blutie etc) and have their cars modplated for it. JP is pretty finicky about mods too, so i would say he would have researched it.

My Brembo 604 Pug rotors are redriled and my engineer has not problem with that. And as Takai said its done on other conversions in Qld with no apparent problem, but with other engineers I guess. So, the common thread here is your engineer. There is a weight of evidence against his reasons for not allowing it as shown above. Talk to him or change engineers?

I cannot for the life of me figure out which caliper I'm ment to be using here guys. Sorry to dig this out again, I found those DBA 272 rotors on www.discpads.com.au (great site) but i've gone through all the toyota commercial vehicles and cant find any that use that same rotor, or similar to it. So i'm lost as to which hilux/landcruiser's calipers I'm ment to try and fine.

    sorry again

    Nick.

Hey all, i've finally pulled my finger out and am trying to fit my RX7 calipers to the Celica.

Not having any luck at all. Trying to do it the most cost effective way possible.

Was hoping to use the original Peugeot rotors but thats a no no by the looks of things.

Was then hoping to make a 'flat' bracket so I can make it myself and not be machined. But that doesn't seem to be going anywhere either.

Has anyone had any heads up yet on ideas that may work?

I've got rx7 calipers to play with, ra28 strut, xt130 strut, Peugeot rotors and RX7 FC rotors.

So got lots to play with.. I just can only come up with stupidly difficult brackets that are going to cost $$$ to machine up. I would much prefer a simple bracket I can make myself or have laser cut as this costs bugger all.. Then buy a rotor to suit.

Also it must fit inside 15" rims so i've found the limit of the rotor is 282.

Having played with a Hoppers kit for a TA22 late last year I was surprised to see that they simply used two flat plates to mount the caliper, the two plates were then bolted together with a spacer in between them.

I was expecting to see a machined and offset caliper mount. The kit was quite simple but effective, is there any way you could use a similar method and use two flat sections bolted together using suitable grade bolts and a spacer?
