I found going to a larger 1" master made the braking performance worse.. Not enough pressure now.
hopper stoppers recommended nothing less then a 1" master from the land cruisers for their conversions...
the -A70 supra's use a 15/16th master don't they???

My rotors are machined down to 273-4 and cleared okay when i dummy fit it all... Very lil 'spare' room, but i dont imagine a rotor growing much under heat or whatever..?
And ive got a a70 master cylinder with the celica standard booster jobbie, from everywhere ive read/been told its sposed to be just fine... 2nd'd Rad28's question, they are 15/16th?!
Cheers,

i never realised you were suppose to keep the standard boosterOriginally Posted by Smokey228

High pedal pressure, low pedal travel and low braking effect is as you said from too big a master cylinder.Originally Posted by TurboRA28
Two fixes are possible.
(1) Fit a smaller master cylinder at the expense of longer pedal travel, gives greater feel and easier to push to the edge of locking.
(2) Fit a larger ratio Brake booster at the expense of brake feel, can be difficult to push brakes to the edge without locking a wheel.

ive got a 1" (MA70) master cylinder bolted to my std 28 booster.
heard this works fine ... only issue i expect is brake bias and for that i hate an adjustable valve.

Nath, So assuming the ma70 is gonna be the same size as the ja70, do you know if we'll get the same issue as joel? I ask you cause i know youve dummy fit it all, but dunno wether or not youve tested...
Mwah,

Ideas on what will fit to a KE30 booster, i havnt looked at the master yet.
Edit: Hm, i wonder if the AE86 booster will bolt up to a KE30 firewall... have a spare booster....

what brakes are you running joel?
going on this as a ratio game Master:Calipers
ive gone from RA28Master:RA28Calipers
to
MA70Master:HILUXCalipers
and i know early landcruiser / hilux used 1" master (so too MA70) and considering im
using the hilux/landy calipers I shouldnt have these issues mentioned ...
i think?

Hey guys i read back on page 10 i think that HQ wheel bearings work arite on the Cornona struts/pugot rotor combo?
also what hub is generaly used in this setup? (to match the HQ bearings) TA RA Corona?
Cheers
iv'e heard this too.. the crown guys use the HQ rotors as upgrades on the '65s, but as i understand, the HQ has a crown/captive hub setup, no need for a seperate hub, though i could be wrong

Yep rotor/hub in full is swapped. They also fit Commodore hubs/rotors, mate has a V8 EH holden with HR front, HQ stubs and VN hubs/rotors. Obviously will need a suitable caliper and bracket.Originally Posted by RAd28

i have tested this myself... so this is 100% correct.
HQ has same bearings as XT130/ra23-28 etc.
Yes a disc (has integral hub ie hub joined solid to rotor) boltsa directly onto ra28 and xt130 corona struts.
as mentioned bracket will be needed to mount a caliper.
oh and no this disc is tooooo thick for std 4 piston hilux calipers.

Cheers for the info,
has anyone shortened the struts for TAs before if so where did they cut/weld
i have been looking at them today and cant decide what is best i would like to weld them right near the stub so that its not as obvious,
is it possible to cut them off and get the thread put on the top?
