misfiring and pouring smoke out the exhaust intermittently sometimes it runs sweet then other times shit... doesnt idle by itself... i know it could be heaps of things but just wondering if anyone has any first things first pointers... im doing plugs atm but it was like it dropped numerous cylinders... which is why i think something bigger in the spark food chain...

Sounds like you got the leaky capacitor issue in your ECU. Very common problem. Do a search for leaky capacitors and you will find heaps of info on here.
