Toyota Fuel Gauge Sender Resistances

Hi you lot

I'm looking to replace my RA23/8 fuel gauges with aftermarket. A quick search revealed that there are a few different toyota senders around. I found the following but can't verify it's accuracy...


ta22 (droptank?) haines manual states
empty 110 ohms
1/2 full 33 ohms
full 3 ohms

ra28 works on 0-100 ohms resistance.
0 - full
100 = empty

I think we need a decent list, so post it up here and I'll make a list... I'll try and verify the RA28 RA23 senders this weekend.

TA22, 1971-72, ~3ohms(0), 100ohms, droptank model only?
TA23, 1974-77, (i'm guessing the years...)
RA23, 1975-77,
RA28, 1977-78, 0ohms, 100ohms
KE70 etc ...

usually with an aftermarket gauge, you also buy the aftermarket sender unit to suit.
Thats what i did in my RA28....

toyota fuel gauges are notorious for not being linear or realistic anyway - i run the ute down to empty, put 40 litres of oil in it and the gauge reads > full - and that's with a >60 litre tank.
